Wellington: Part 1

Last weekend we travelled three hours south along the coast to Wellington, the capital of New Zealand.  It was a beautiful, scenic drive, as I am beginning to suspect ALL drives are in this country!

Amazing views!

Coming into town

The harbor

The inter island ferry - which we will take to the south island in January

Cuba Street - funky shopping district (a friend of ours came along on this trip!)

Lunch at an awesome deli

Window shopping on Cuba St.

Julia found a playground

Ben and Julia snacking on some yummy Swiss ice cream!

Down by the harbor

Taking a break

Beautiful views

Harbor business district

Ellie, Mimi and I went to the Royal New Zealand Ballet's production of Swan Lake on Saturday night

The St. James Theater

Sunday morning the littles and I went to the Wellington Zoo

It was a fantastic weekend filled with tons of fun!  We will definitely be back to this city to see more amazing things.  We could spend the whole year here and not see it all!

Cris and the girls had an adventure of their own on Sunday that deserves it's own post - stay tuned!!
